Chapter 2 Five Seconds
All of a sudden, the door to the villa was kicked open with a loud bang.
The middle-aged man, who had been on his way out, was slammed back by its force, blood trickling out of his nose as he fell to the floor. He shouted, “Who the f**k is that? Do you even know where you are?”
Everyone in the hall was taken aback, but they quickly regained their composure and their expressions darkened.
Frenzied, Sam scanned the crowd with his bloodshot eyes. He finally honed in on Anne and trembled with rage when he saw James smearing dog poop all over her face.
He flew at them and gave James a strong punch, forcing him to let Anne go.
“Anne, is it really you?” Sam mumbled shakily as he looked at her familiar, yet wan face.
Anne’s eyes brightened slightly when she saw Sam, then burst into tears and sobbed with a mixture of despair and joy, “Is it really you, Papa? I was so scared and cold… I knew you’d come to my rescue!” After that, she lost consciousness.
Sam was filled with rage at the sight of Anne’s dirt-stained face. He wrapped his arms around her tightly, his face betraying no emotion as he frostily uttered, “You’re all going to die.”
Though he had not raised his voice, his tone was more than enough to make one tremble in fear. The dominant and oppressive aura that he had built up through his experience on the battlefield made everyone present instinctively shudder.
Clive Rodrick, the middle-aged man who had kidnapped Anne, was the first to react. He spat fiercely before walking up to Sam and jeering, “Who the f**k do you think you are? Do you have any idea who Mr. Green is? Get the hell out of here before he loses his temper, or else…”
Before Clive could finish his sentence, Sam struck him across the face so forcefully that his n*eck twisted violently. Even in death, Clive did not understand what had happened, and his face was permanently left in a state of shock.
James staggered to his feet with the help of one of his men. He could feel that his shoulder was badly injured because of Sam’s punch.
Looking at Clive Rodrick’s sorry state, everyone was stunned. Had Sam ended someone’s life with a single slap? Was he truly that powerful?
James suppressed his pain, a scowl forming on his face. He asked icily, “Who are you? Are you Sam Parker?”
Sam gave him a cold glance before saying, “This is me giving all of you a chance. I’ll allow anyone of you who smears dog shit over their faces to live.”
One of the burly thugs standing behind James took a step forward and furiously spat, “F**k off, you piece of shit!”
Sam remained expressionless. He continued icily, “You only have five seconds.”
“F**k!” The burly thug could not stand it anymore. He wanted to take Sam down a peg, but he was too slow. In the next second, Sam had already rushed up to him.
Before he could even react, something cold sliced across his n*eck, leaving a cut there as blood gushed out. The burly thug’s eyes widened in shock, unable to believe that he was going to die like this.
James had an ugly look on his face as he watched the burly thug collapse to the floor. His gaze turned murderous.
Although James was not at the top of his game in Queenstown, he could still be considered someone of import, especially since he hailed from the Parker family. Yet this man had just barged in and taken two lives in front of his very eyes!
James shot Sam an icy glance and said, “Do you have a death wish, pal? How dare you take someone’s life on my turf?”
Sam remained expressionless, merely uttering coldly, “Three seconds left!”
“F**k you and your three seconds!” James was truly enraged. He had never been subject to such humiliation!
He abruptly stepped forward and swung a fist forcefully at Sam’s face.
Sam did not even flinch. Just before James’ punch landed, Sam’s gaze sharpened and he stopped James’ attack by gripping his fist.
James was astonished. The next thing he knew, he was filled with indescribable pain and he could not help letting out a tortured screech as his arm was ripped off.
A deadly silence settled over the villa as everyone present gaped at James, who was writhing in pain. They were in disbelief over everything that had just happened.
They were jolted out of their shock at James’ furious roar. “What the f**k are you guys doing just standing there?! End him right now!”
